Welcome to east Iceland and the small town of Vopnafjörður!
As you may notice, it is quite empty around here. This small little airport only serves around one thousand people per year that mostly arrive via northern Iceland's main airline, Norlandair!
Norlandair utilizes their King Air's and occasional Twin Otter's to serve this humble town from the Iceland's second largest town, Akureyri.
Although it might look quite desolate, I can assure you that the lovely plains and big mountains to the south of the airfield keep you warm company on whatever journey you are on!
Whether that is a mighty transatlantic ferry-flight or just a small regional King Air hop, this airport serves as a lovely little welcome.
This scenery features the following:
- No libraries required since everything is either made in-house or uses X-Plane default assets
- Custom 3D-buildings referenced to real-life images
- PBR texturing for objects and ground textures
- Fully custom ground textures and weathering referenced to satellite images
- Airport infrastructure such as windsocks, lights, and runway referenced to Isavia's latest eAIP release (17 May 2024)
- Night and snow textures fully implemented.
- Performance friendly where modelling and texturing have been kept to relevant standards and level of detail

I hope you enjoy this scenery just as much as I did making it. I can't guarantee future updates but I will try my best to keep this working. I do this in my spare time in between PPL and aircraft mechanic studies so any donations, ratings, or simple comments make all the difference and are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me via DM.
Hope you have a lovely rest of your day :)
